ATSI Tissue Banking Resource Alliances
In order to provide our surgeons and their patients with the very best bone and soft tissue allografts, ATSI has formed strategic alliances with the very best tissue banking resources in the country. Through these strategic alliances, ATSI exhibits its commitment to provide safe and effective tissue products. Attention to detail and each tissue bank’s meticulous donor screening process helps to ensure that any ATSI supplied allograft is of the highest quality and meets all AATB accreditation standards and FDA regulations.
Quality Assurance Standards of all ATSI Tissue Banking Resources
All of our tissue banking resources take quality assurance very seriously. Stringent evaluations take place prior to recovery to safeguard against the transmission of diseases from the donor to the recipient. A complete medical and social history from the donor's next of kin is the beginning of a careful screening for risk factors. Through this screening process, donors are disqualified for malignant cancer, infections, neurological and autoimmune disease, drug abuse and many other exposures or behaviors that might result in a risk to the recipient. In addition to the extensive screening process, all allografts are quarantined until blood tests can be evaluated. The donor's blood must test negative for the following:
- HIV 1 and HIV2 antibodies (HIV1/2-Ab)
- HIV Nucleic Acid Testing (HIV-NAT)
- Hepatitis B surface antigen and core antibody (HBsAg/HBc)
- Hepatitis C Antibody (HCV)
- Human T-Lymphotropic Virus Type1 & 2 (HTLVI/II)
- Syphilis (STS) or Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR)
Each donor chart is reviewed to ensure all required elements are complete (e.g. Medical Social History, donor authorization, medical chart, recovery documentation, hemodilution assessment, autopsy report, etc).
