undefinedACL/PCL Reconstruction - Semitendinosus/Gracilis Tendons:

Commonly referred to as Hamstrings these are the densely striated tendons of the upper leg responsible for extension of the thigh, flexion of the knee and adduction of the thigh.

undefined

The hamstring tendons allow the physician to create double-bundled stitched grafts for use with interference screw fixation or looped over a TransFix™ pin for femoral fixation. The Semitendinosus or gracilis may also be used separately for small joint or podiatric surgical applications such as lateral / medial ankle ligament reconstruction or hand / wrist / elbow repair. Use of allograft tendons in these applications reduces OR time and eliminates donor site morbidity associated with the use of autografts.

Processing Guidelines:

The graft will be free of adipose tissue, incisions, separating fibers and/or hematoma staining. The Minimum diameter of tendons for use in ACL / PCL reconstruction is 7 mm. Smaller diameter sizes are available for use in small joint or podiatric applications.

Graft Measurement:

undefined

The folded diameter (mm) is determined by pulling the folded tendon through the appropriate hole of a sizing block.
