The Peroneus Longus tendon, like the tibialis tendon, provides the surgeon an excellent graft for primary, as well as revision ACL and PCL reconstructions. The use of this graft allows the physician to create a single-looped stitched configuration for use with interference screw fixation or as a single length of tendon looped over a TransFix™ pin for femoral fixation. Peroneus Longus tendons may also be used for small joint or podiatric surgical applications such as lateral/medial ankle ligament reconstruction or hand / wrist / elbow repair. Use of allograft tendons in these applications reduces OR time and eliminates donor site morbidity associated with the use of autografts.
Processing Guidelines:
The graft will be free of adipose tissue, incisions, separating fibers and/or hematoma staining. The Minimum diameter of tendons for use in ACL / PCL reconstruction is 7.5 mm.
Graft Measurement:

(L) Length of Tendon
(W) Smallest Width of Tendon
The folded diameter (mm) is determined by pulling the folded tendon through the appropriate hole of a sizing block.
