Meniscal Repair - Meniscus:

The meniscus is a crescent shaped structure made of fibrocartilage and is responsible for providing cushioning between the femoral condyle and the tibial plateau.

Few options exist for patients with extensive meniscal damage. Meniscal allografts have proven to be effective in improving function and reducing pain for patients. Both medial and lateral meniscal allografts come with sufficient bone block to perform various anchorage procedures including, Double Bone Plug, Keyhole, and Dovetail.

Processing Guidelines:

The fibrocartilage of meniscal allografts will be free of hemorrhage, nicks, cuts, and / or holes. The bone block will be free of cracks and excess tissue and will have a continuous layer of cortical bone. All measurements are recorded for evaluation by the physician.
