Allografts for Small Joint Surgery

October 20, 2004
- In an effort to better service small joint surgeons, ATSI is now providing cortical-cancellous bone grafts specifically designed for foot and ankle procedures. A number of recent scientific articles have promoted the use of allografts for a number of foot and ankle applications such as distraction arthrodesis, opening wedge osteotomies, and fracture management. Atsi offers two allografts for these applications:

Calcaneal Wedge: The calcaneal wedge is a cancellous bone wedge completely surrounded by a cortical wall that will add structural support for mid foot and rear foot procedures.

Tri-cortical Wedge: The tri-cortical wedge is recovered from the Ilium and contains cancellous bone surrounded by cortical walls on three sides.

ATSI also offers two other grafts for small joint and hand applications: Small joint tibialis and hamstring tendons. Using small diameter tibialis and hamstring allografts optimizes the surgeon’s cases by reducing OR time and eliminating the risks associated with donor site morbidity.
